FAITH IN CHRIST ALONE

We are saved by grace to do (for) good works (Eph 2:10).  We are not saved by good deeds (Eph 2:8).  There are many who think if they do enough good deeds, they could win God’s favor.  But here is the question, how much is enough?  How do we measure enough?

Just so no one can boast of their good deeds, God made sure it’s all by His grace and not by our deeds.  It’s all by grace or nothing.  The Bible declares our good deeds are like filthy rags (Isa 64:6b), which means our good deeds are not good enough, and therefore will not impress God in any way.

Do you want to be saved?  What have you been counting on for your salvation?  I hope you are not counting on any of these: “I am a nice person, I am kind, I am friendly, etc;” because none of these will save you.  God through His Son has already made the provision for you to be saved.  It is this, Jesus died in your place; believe in Him for salvation, then He will open doors for you to do good deeds for His glory.  Make that decision today, because Jesus says, “Whoever hears my word and believes Him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life” (Jn 5:24).

THE TRUTH THAT FREES

Here’s a Newsflash: You are a slave!  What do I mean?  How can I say that?  I wish I didn’t, but it is the truth.  The average person will admit that he or she is a sinner.  Would you admit that?  Are you a sinner?  That is easy to admit because we are all in the same boat; a bunch of sinners, no one better than the other.

Now that you’ve admitted you are a sinner (you still are even if you refuse to admit it), let’s see what Jesus says about you.  “Everyone who sins is a slave to sin” (Jn 8:34).  Ouch!   Now that hurts; no one really wants to be a slave, not in this day and age.

You don’t really have to continue to be a slave; you can be free today!  Jesus said, “If you hold on to my teaching, you are really my disciples.  Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free: (Jn 8:31), and again, “If the Son sets you free you will be free indeed” (Jn 8:36).

Jesus says He is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father (God) except through Him (Jesus) Jn 14:6.  Jesus loves you so much that by His death He paid the ransom for you to be free from sin and its power.  Hence if you do not want to remain a slave, do what I did.  Believe in the name of Jesus, ask God to forgive your sins on account of Jesus’ sacrifice; He will do that, and you will begin to enjoy freedom and peace.  Please do this now; it is that important!

BEFORE I COULD SAY "MAMA"

11/12/2013

Through the actions of one man (Adam) I became a sinner.

I became a sinner even before I could say “Mama,” even before I was born.

The sentence for his sin was death, eternal separation from God.

So I died before I could say “Mama,” even before I was born.

Through the actions of God,

A way for escape from death was made for me,

Before I could say, “Mama,” even before I was born.

So redemption was made available to me before I could say, “Mama,” even before I was born.

Now that I can say more than “Mama,”

Now that I understand the verdict and the sentence,

I have accepted the way of escape from death.

That guilty verdict no longer hangs over me;

It no longer has a hold on me.

The way of escape is through faith in Jesus, the Son of God

I have faith in Him for the sacrifice He made,

Before I could say, “Mama,” even before I was born.

Now I am as free as if I’ve never sinned!

Now I am free to live for God, not for self and not for sin!

How about you?

GOD’S PLAN FOR MAN

God created man in His own image, and had plans before the creation of the world to redeem him through the death and sacrifice of His own Son, Jesus.  He therefore had no desire and still doesn’t desire to send anyone to hell, except of course, the devil and his angels.  This of course does not mean no humans will be there, because sadly, there will be many there.  “Why?”  You might ask.  There will be many there because during their lifetime these people made the choice to go there.

Please understand that they did not say or desire in their hearts, “O I want to go to hell someday.”  They expressed it by their attitude, they ignored the way of salvation, they wanted nothing to do with God, and especially His Son Jesus, who is the only Name given among men by whom we might be saved.  They felt so righteous in their own eyes thinking they had no need for a Savior; they chose to align themselves with the devil, following his leadership.

The end result of rejecting Jesus is hell!  Not desiring hell does not lead to heaven.  What leads to heaven is faith in Jesus, the Son of God, because He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.  No man comes to the Father except through Him (Jn 14:1).

Have you prayed to God asking for forgiveness through His Son?  If not please do it now before it is too late.  God is faithful; He honors His word 100 percent of the time.  No matter what your sin, He has promised to forgive and forget if only you repent and ask for His forgiveness.
